Work and Play is run by experienced fibreglass builder and keen outdoor enthusiast Rob McLean
Rob McLean, the driving force behind Work and Play NZ, channels his passion for camping and hunting into creating exceptional fibreglass products. With a background in boat building, including experience with prestigious clients like the America's Cup, NZ Police, and Coast Guard, Rob is a master in his field. His extensive knowledge allows him to design and build fibreglass campers, trailers, and cabins that align perfectly with clients' specific needs.
Work and Play NZ was born from Rob's desire to combine his love for the outdoors with his expertise in fibreglass. With over 35 years in the industry, Rob transitioned from building boats to creating products that cater to both work and play. Drawing inspiration from his childhood camping adventures, he set out to design modern, versatile trailers and campers. Today, our Hamilton-based factory spans 2,500 square feet and is home to a dedicated team, including New Zealand boat builders, fibreglass technicians and qualified tradespeople, all working together to bring Rob's vision to life.
Our in-house manufacturing means our trailers are of the highest standards
At Work and Play NZ, all our trailers and components are manufactured in-house by our experienced team. That means we can control the quality of each piece, resulting in high-quality trailers, campers and huts.
It also gives us flexibility to adapt components and stock units to create better layouts.
